It’s almost the end of my third year of high school! I have many great memories and learned so much from being at Lindsay High School. The thing I love most about LHS is the teachers, meeting new people and being on the sports teams. High school sports in a huge change from playing the 8th grade teams and then playing on varsity. It’s just so much faster and the guys are bigger and faster; the plays are a little harder too but on the bright side, being out there with my brothers was just amazing. They're like my second family away from home. Basketball was just as amazing especially because my brother was the coach; the downside is he never let up on me and he always expected so much from me. Swimming was a little better than that because everyone was so friendly and the coaches where really great, but it was also the hardest sport I have ever done and that kicked my butt a lot.
I’m really going to miss everyone once I graduate. I'll still come and visit and hopefully come back after I’m done with college and be an assistant coach. My education has been a real struggle for me since I have a learning disability and don’t comprehend like other learners, but I don’t let it become an excuse. I just have to work harder than everyone else to stay on top of all my classes. I also have had some really great teachers who understand and will help me tremendously and I’m really thankful for those teachers. It’s also has been really stressful on me if I miss one assignment; the work will just keep adding up and lately I have been sort of lazy in my work when I really shouldn't. Over before Christmas break, I’ll get everything I need to finish and do it over the break.
Junior year, I feel, is the hardest, but then again if you did not mess around your freshman and sophomore years then your junior and senior year will be alright. I wish I could have had someone there to really enforce that to me before I came into high school. Overall, high school was really great. I might have had some ups and downs but that’s just part of high school; all you have to do is get through it and be strong . You can't let one thing or person bring you down! Even if they or it manage to knock you down, you get back up and keep going. I read once that, “you’re going to have some ups and you’re going to have some downs. Most people give up on them easy. Did you know the human spirit is powerful? There’s nothing as powerful; it’s hard to kill the human spirit.” You can’t be afraid to fail at all; that’s when you learn the most. I can’t tell you how many times I have failed in one of my classes, school, work, sports and at my personal life; yes, it's a horrible feeling but when you finally get it and you prove all those doubters wrong, it’s an even better feeling.
